Robot Ambrogino performed his first grass cutting of the year. A good job! Bravo Ambrogino. Weather is still wintery here (400m) nothing is in bloom yet except crocuses. Down in the bottom of the valley, where Milano is, they have everything out and it is an explosion of colors. |

Just saw the most magnificent magnolia tree in a public park this afternoon. And of course we've got flowers everywhere too. Even my rocket is blooming, which it's not supposed to do until after I eat the leaves...

Frogspawn now growing and fattening nicely, some moving out into the unknown and exploring the larger expanse of water.
Gorse coming into flower, though many of the bushes have suffered over the winter with some deaths.... Roses have, also, been damaged by snow and wind, one at least has given up. The daffodils, still yellow, are mostly fading, whilst the two cowslips are blooming nicely. The meadow orchid is beginning to show, but we still don't understand why there is only the one plant. Onions, potatoes, carrots, courgettes, runner beans and sweetcorn planted. 54 patches of grass removed to expose the earth ready for loosening before the saplings (mentioned elsewhere) arrive. All the trees are in leaf, except the oak and the ash....... Oh ! and the bat has been flitting around during the evening, and a large wind turbine now spoils one of our viewpoints (one of six that we missed at the planning stage!) |

The lemon tree is finally dropping some fruit (very large lemons this year, size of baseballs). |

Yes, I'll admit to lots of weeds - dandelions in full bloom to attract the butterfiles and bees

Only one plant of tomatoes, with buds, flowers and ... one tomato. Cherries seem abundant. Zucchini, it is showing something. 4 plants. I'll try to make them climb. |

The swifts are here!!!
Came back home to find that the rocket is growing bravely, though one of the plants seems to have suffered a bit, from what I don't know, maybe something to do with a rude bird The tomatoes are playing hard to get this season. They are probably sulking because I'm not giving them enough attention. And I can now see the tarragon without the help of a microscope. It must have grown at least one millimeter since I spotted it first, about a month ago! |

swallows and martins are flitting about - the former have been around for over a fortnight.
still frosty each morning, damaging all but 6 of the saplings I planted .... :weeps: Lilac starting to flower as are the horse chestnut, the ash and the dandelion .... rosebay willow herb starting to sprout rapidly, but the grass is slow this year - perhaps showing a marked lack of rain .... |

The possum's just gone on his nightly attack on the wisteria and there's a bandicoot under the hibiscus. The garden looks a bit sad as autumn is here and we don't get lots of colour.
