Unfortunately; it's as I expected. No media pack results in Sigil not starting; windows messages unable to find MFPlat.dll, then MF.dll and finally MFReadWrite.dll. If media pack is present, no issues.
Sigil 1.9.10 had no issues either with or without media pack. |

Yes. The official Sigil 1.9.20 version should have no trouble either. It's not the Sigil code/version, it's building any version of Sigil with Qt6 instead of Qt5. Probably Qt6 WebEngine to be precise.

From what I can glean, those wmf dlls were delay-loaded in Qt5WebEngine. That's no longer the case with Qt6WebEngine. Hence the failure. I doubt we'll have any kind of say in the matter (other than making a note that Windows N users will need to install the media pack from Microsoft when we switch to Qt6).

This looks promising on the Qt6WebEngine Windows N front:
https://code.qt.io/cgit/qt/qtwebengi...df9b9b3a8daae6 We can either wait for this to be incorporated into a Qt6 release, or modify our Windows Qt6 builds ourselves if it takes too long. |

We get build logs all of the time but many compiler warnings are basically meaningless. The warnings your build log shows are not real issues. Given we compile Sigil with 3 different compilers (visual studios, clang, gcc) not to mention multiple versions of each, we focus in fixing only warnings that actually indicate something important.

I Have been using Sigil 0.9.4 as I had a 32 bit windows 10 pc, now I have another pc with 64 bit win 10 but I like the editing feature in 0.9x with the page shown as an editable page and double clicking the page heading gives me the html so I can quickly toggle between the two, is there a way of setting the latest Sigil in the same way?

No, it was split out into a companion app called PageEdit that can be linked to Sigil via an External XEditor preference setting. Check out PageEdit and the Sigil User Guide for more info.

Hello,
I forgot if such has been mentioned. More keyboard shortcuts and perhaps drag and drop would be nice someday. For example, select TOC entries in the editor and delete, or drag and drop files into the sidebar. Various little things that I think would mean less clicks or mouse movements. |

There are already too many keyboard shortcuts being used for most keyboards and lots more commands that can be assigned shortcuts. Use SigilPreferences to change and set them to suit.
And once you drag and drop a toc entry on a sidebar ofsome sort what should it then do? And why revive this older thread? |
