@shoelesshunter: It is currently not possible, no.
(And possibly won't, ever, because KOReader happens to kill Nickel on Kobo, unlike on Kindle, where we simply try to hobble the main UI as best we can, which happens to be the source of an unending series of kludges. And even if we didn't kill Nickel, we happen to coax the device in a hardware state that is more efficient, but completely incompatible with Nickel).
TL;DR: Don't hold your breath. Even if it were technically possible, I wouldn't want to deal with the same kind of kludges KPVBooklet has to deal with on Kindle to make that possible.
